Here are some of the most trusted home remedies for blackheads removal

1. Baking soda

There are very few problems that baking soda cannot solve. It has an antiseptic quality that is perfect for getting rid of blackheads on chin, nose, and other areas of the face. Make a paste using a tablespoon of baking soda and a small amount of water. Apply this to the affected areas, allow it to dry, and rinse off with warm water. Follow this a couple of times a week, and those unsightly eruptions will be gone in no time.

2. Cinnamon

Cinnamon contains anti-bacterial properties, and will get rid of those dark spots in little to no time. Make a face mask using organic cinnamon and organic honey in a 1:2 ratio, apply this on the spots, and leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash off with a mild face wash, apply some moisturiser, and you’re good to go. Try to do this once daily to remove blackheads with ease.

3. Clay

Clay is really good for the skin, because it draws out oil and other impurities from the skin when wet, ensuring that your pores no longer remain clogged. Mix some clay into water or apple cider vinegar, apply the slightly thick paste on your skin, and rinse off with lukewarm water. It is preferable that you let it dry completely, although if that makes you uncomfortable, leave it on for as long as you want before washing it off.

4. Honey

Heat a tablespoon of organic honey, apply to affected areas, and allow it to dry. Clean with warm, wet cloth, or leave it overnight.

5. Honey and milk

Honey and milk are both great for the skin. Mix a teaspoon of milk with a tablespoon of honey, and apply on the dark spots. Place a strip of cotton on it, allow it to dry completely, and peel this off with care. Rinse with cold water and moisturise.

6. Cinnamon and honey

Honey contains anti-bacterial properties, while cinnamon increases blood circulation. Mix the two ingredients in a 1:1 ratio, making sure that the honey is absolutely organic. As with the previous mixture, apply this to the affected areas, place a strip of cotton on it, and allow it to dry all the way. Remove the strip, wash off, and apply some moisturiser.

7. Oatmeal

Oatmeal not only soothes the skin, but also removes excess oil and makes the skin look clearer. Cook oats in water like you normally would, apply to the affected areas, and leave on for 10-20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water afterwards. Try to follow this at least once daily to get rid of blackheads – fast.

8. Egg white

Egg is rich in proteins and is great for your skin and health. Separating the egg white from the yolk, apply the white to the affected areas. Wait until the first layer dries, and apply a second, and preferably a third, coat, waiting between each application for the previous coat to dry. Wash off with a mild face wash, and follow your regular toning and moisturising regime.

9. Lemon juice

The citric acid in lemon will remove dead skin cells and open up clogged pores. Squeeze some lemon juice into a bowl, and dab onto the affected areas using a cotton ball. Let it dry, and then wash off. Do this at least once daily to see swift results.

10. Green tea

Green tea is excellent for your skin and health, owing to the fact that it is rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Soak green tea bags in warm water for an hour, and using a cotton ball, apply the liquid to the affected areas when lukewarm. Let it dry and then wash off with cool water. Do this once daily.

11. Water

Surprise, surprise! The easiest, most convenient remedy, without a doubt. While face packs and masks are great, excessive use of the same might dry out the skin on your face – this is especially inconvenient during winter. A gentle yet thorough rinsing of the face with plain water a few times a day is a great way to get rid of excess sebum or dead skin cells. However, follow up the rinsing with a light moisturiser, otherwise your skin might build up more sebum to counteract the post-rinsing dryness.

12. Sugar

Turns out sugar is better for your skin than it is for your body. A good scrub with sugar will exfoliate your skin by removing the excess dead skin cells and sebum, thereby leaving your skin fresh and clear. It will also increase circulation, and leave your skin glowing. Make a scrub using one cup of white or brown sugar, four tablespoons of jojoba oil, and essential oils (if available). Apply to the skin, leave it to dry, and wash off. Practice 2-3 times a week.

13. Turmeric

It is a great antioxidant. Mix with water or coconut oil to make a paste. Apply this to the affected areas, and wash off with lukewarm water after letting it soak for 10-15 minutes.

14. Epsom salts

Mix in half a cup of water along with four drops of iodine, letting the Epsom salts dissolve. Massage into the blackheads on nose, letting the mixture dry. Rinse with warm water.

15. Toner

Make your own toner by mixing 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 3 tablespoons of crushed mint leaves in 8 ounces of water. Apply the toner, leaving it overnight, and wash it off in the morning.

Precautions-

  • Eliminate oily, sugary foods from your diet
  • Always keep your skin clean
  • Exfoliate at least twice  a week
  • Avoid stress by getting enough sleep
  • Avoid creamy cosmetics and oils
