Moles can be as annoying as pimples or acne, or the scars left behind by these. They can make your skin look dull and blemished, and can ruin the look of an otherwise healthy, glowing face. This is a problem faced by people of all ages all over the world, but is usually not difficult to get rid of. Remove moles on the face with ease, at home, using the home remedies listed here – there are several to choose from, and you can treat them in almost no time.
Causes
The most common causes for moles are follows:-
- Cells growing in a cluster in an area
- When cells do not separate and spread out like they should, the skin develops moles
- These cells, called melanocytes, darken when exposed to the sun
- Moles proliferate during puberty, due to changing hormone levels
- For the same reason, i.e., hormone levels, they may also form during pregnancy
Symptoms
The following are the symptoms of moles:-
- Moles are dark in colour and therefore easy to spot
- Dark brownish marks on the skin that resemble freckles may be moles
- They may be flat or raised
- Besides dark brown, moles may also be black, red, blue or pink in colour
- Marks that are about 6 mm in diameter (moles are rarely bigger in size) may be identified as moles
- They are usually oval or round in shape
Home Remedies for Moles
There are several remedies available for the removal of moles. These are a few that have proved to be effective:-
1. Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a great solution for removing moles. Dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and apply it on the affected areas. Using gauze and medical tape, fix the ball in place. Leave this in place for an hour. Do this once every day and see your moles disappear in about ten days’ time. We recommend that you use organic ACV for this.
2. Baking soda
Make a paste using a teaspoon of baking soda and three or four drops of castor oil. Apply this to the moles and leave it on overnight; wash off the next morning. Your skin will clear up in a month.
3. Iodine
Iodine is extremely effective in removing pesky moles. After applying petroleum jelly on the areas around the moles for extra protection, apply a drop of iodine on each mole. Do this twice every day for a week, and you will notice a sea change. If the iodine causes your skin to burn, stop using it immediately.
4. Garlic
Make a paste by crushing a clove of garlic, apply this to the affected region, and leave it on overnight. Wash off with a mild face wash the next morning. Do this for three weeks, and the moles will disappear as fast as they appeared.
5. Flaxseed and honey
Make a thick paste using a teaspoon each of flaxseed powder and flaxseed oil with an equal amount of honey, and apply this on your moles. Leave it on for an hour and wash off with lukewarm water. This will dry up the moles. Do this thrice a day, and you will notice a visible change in a few weeks’ time.
6. Banana peel
Just as with acne and pimples, banana peel makes for a great and cost-effective remedy for moles. Apply the inside of a banana peel to the affected areas and leave it on for a while. Wash off, and follow this routine a few times a day. The moles will eventually dry up and fall off.
7. Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is versatile, and can help you get rid of pretty much any outgrowths on the skin – including moles, of course. Apply a small amount of tea tree oil to the affected areas using a cotton ball or swab, and leave it on overnight. Wash your face as you normally would the next morning. Follow this routine daily, and your skin should clear up in a month’s time. It is important to discontinue the use of tea tree oil if your skin reacts aversely to it.
8. Aloe vera
Apply organic aloe vera gel on your moles and leave it on for three hours. Wash off and pat your skin dry. Follow this two or three times a day for best results.
9. Strawberry
Strawberries are as great for removing moles. Slice one in half, and apply this to the affected areas for a while. Do this daily for a few days, and your moles will disappear in no time.
10. Cauliflower juice
Fruits and vegetables are as effective when applied topically as when they are ingested, and cauliflowers are no exception. Drain the juice from a cauliflower and apply this on the moles. Do this a few times each day, and your moles will be gone in no time.
11. Onion juice
Extract the juice from an onion and apply it on the affected regions two or three times a day. This is one of the safest and most effective ways of getting rid of moles. However, you must be patient, as this remedy takes some time to show results.
12. Sour apple
Extract the juice from a sour apple, apply this on your moles, and leave it on. Do this a few times a day, and watch the mole shrink and finally disappear. The enzymes from the sour apple will also lighten or completely remove skin pigmentation, evening out your complexion in the process.
13. Aspirin
Aspirin works just as well on moles as it does on pimples and acne. Crush a tablet and mix it with a few drops of water to make a paste. Apply this on your moles, leave on for half an hour, and wash off. Do this once daily and you will notice a sea change in no time.
14. Honey
Honey, with or without other things, is perfect for removing unwanted moles. Using a cotton ball apply a thick layer of honey on the affected areas, leaving it on for an hour. Wash off with your regular face wash. Do this several times a day to notice radical changes in no time. Before doing this, however, you must make sure that the honey is organic and contains no artificial additives.
15. Grapefruit
Extract the juice from a grapefruit and apply this to your moles. Follow this several times a day, and you will notice the moles disappearing within a few weeks. Alternatively, you can also use the extract from grapefruit seeds.
16. Coriander leaves
Make a paste by crushing a handful of coriander leaves. Apply this to the affected areas and wash off overnight. The moles will be gone very soon.
